Morning Shift
Stained glass and rope, 2022-2023
This work stemmed from growing frustrations and mental boredom that came from a minimum wage job I was working at during that time. I made a game with myself, and assigned a colour to the three most popular orders; creating the pattern for this work based on their frequency and order during a set time frame.
The pattern was then made with stained glass, strengthened and tied up with white rope, and hung by a window, with the receipts of the orders that instructed the work hanging below.
The work was an exercise in letting go of control, and a result of exploring randomness and order as a means of creating, while still drawing from the mundane.
